Meetings are held on the last Sunday of the month (except December when it is a bit earlier) at Glen of Luce hall, Auchenmalg, starting at 11am.
Guests are most welcome for a small charge of £3 – this includes a hot drink and biscuits.

Beekeeping Beginners Course 8th and 9th March
This course is designed for complete beginners and will give an idea of the ins and outs of being a beekeeper, before investing in bees and equipment. It’s also a useful course for anyone who has recently started keeping bees but would like to understand more about the basics
It will be a full on weekend, starting at 9am and finishing around 4.30pm each day, at Glen of Luce hall, Auchenmalg
Cost £25 per person (+ £15 WGBA membership if you are not already a member)
You will bring your own snacks and lunches but there will be tea/coffee provided
We will cover the following
Day 1
Session 1 – Hives and Equipment
Session 2 – Lifecycle of Bees and Siting an Apiary
Session 3 – Manipulation of a Colony
Session 4 – Plants and Hive Products
Day 2
Session 5 – Swarming and Queen Problems
Session 6 – Harvesting and Processing
Session 7 – Pests and Diseases
Session 8 – The Beekeeping Year

There will still be a lot more to learn but our members will do what they can to support you and your beekeeping ambitions, starting with apiary visits from April – August.
